As a Canadian prairie girl facing another winter, I long to head south to avoid the cold. But I’ve been thinking about my friends and family in California and the fires that are ravaging their countryside and their peace of mind. Kate Wolf’s song, “Here In California” immediately sprang to mind because it brings forward images of hope coupled with reminders of a sometimes harsh reality.
So here is a sweet song to bring comfort, but also clarity, for those days when the daydreams are hard to shake…
Extra tidbit: I fell in love while listening to Lucinda Williams’ version of this song. It’s strange how a sad tune can remind you of a happy time. 🙂
